Waiting for five and a half years to get to college was tough, but joining the military to fund my education was a decision I never regretted. When I finally got to sign up for classes and start my student life, it felt incredibly rewarding. Meeting new friends, diving into my studies, and embracing the college experience made me realize just how privileged I was to be there. Every step of that journey, from the challenges to the triumphs, shaped who I am today.

I savored every moment of my college experience. Signing up for classes was just the beginning. I dove into volunteer work and community service, which taught me the importance of giving back. Joining the Honor Society and the film club allowed me to connect with like-minded peers and explore new interests. I even took fun classes like dance, photography, and music, which are passions I hope to continue pursuing in my adulthood. Sitting in astronomy class, I felt inspired as I learned about the universe and the countless stars that exist. These experiences not only enriched my time in college but also shaped my aspirations and interests for the future.

One particular project that stands out to me was attending a jazz concert. I had never really listened to jazz before, and this assignment changed my perspective and appreciation for the genre. Experiencing a live jazz concert was eye-opening and enriching, and I owe this newfound appreciation to the encouragement of my professor. This project reminded me of the importance of stepping out of my comfort zone and being open to new experiences.

Overall, my college experience was more than just an education; it was a journey of personal growth and discovery. Every class, club, and project contributed to shaping who I am today. The opportunities I had and the lessons I learned continue to inspire me in my current pursuits. I am grateful for the privilege of attending college and the chance to explore my passions, which I carry with me into adulthood.
