What’s the oldest thing you own that you still use daily?

U.S. Navy jogging pants from 1994.

I don’t have the oldest thing I use daily, but I do have some old items that I occasionally use. One of them is my US Navy jogging pants, which are 30 years old. I’ve kept them out of nostalgia as a reminder of my Navy days. I first got these jogging pants when I went to Boot Camp, where they were part of our regular attire for physical training. Sometimes we wore Navy dungarees and blue long-sleeve tops, but the jogging pants were a staple. Physical training gear has probably changed over the years, but these pants have remained with me.

My jogging pants have served me well over the years. Even after I left the Navy, I still used them for running and as comfortable home attire. They are probably older than most of the things I own. It seems like a lifetime ago since my Navy days, and it’s hard to believe that was the life I once had. I often look back and smile at the many memories and connections I made during my service.
