The Dream That Left Me Thinking
I wasn’t planning to join a gang, but in my dream, that’s exactly where I ended up.
One minute, I was driving into a warehouse, and the next, I was on the back of a gang member’s motorcycle, speeding into the unknown.
Fast. Reckless. Terrifying.
But also…eye-opening.
The gang member I was riding with had never seen anything beyond his own world—until we went to the West Side.
I watched him take it all in, seeing a bigger world for the first time. His whole perspective shifted. He didn’t say it, but I could tell: he didn’t want to be in that gang life anymore.
And then—he sent me flowers.
When I woke up, my heart was still racing. Not from fear—but from the weight of what this dream had just shown me.
It wasn’t about the motorcycle, the gang, or even the flowers.
It was about perspective. Change. The unknown.
And suddenly, I couldn’t shake the feeling that this dream had just handed me a truth I needed to see.
🌱 The Power of Perspective
How often do we get stuck in the worlds we know, believing they are all that exist?
We live in mental warehouses—comfortable but confined, predictable but limiting. And sometimes, it takes an unexpected encounter, a shift in scenery, or an act of kindness to show us that there is more beyond what we’ve known.
As C.S. Lewis put it:
“It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea.”
How many of us are making mud pies, unaware that the ocean is just beyond the horizon?
Even Scripture reminds us:
📖 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing, and perfect will.” —Romans 12:2
The gang member in my dream never realized there was a West Side.
Maybe there’s a part of your life where you haven’t realized there’s more.
Soul Insights
🚪 1. We Live in Warehouses We Don’t Even See
Just like the gang member, we can become so used to our surroundings that we forget to ask:
“Is there something more?”
Many people stay in situations, habits, or mindsets simply because they don’t realize they have other options.
Are you limiting yourself without realizing it?
🏍️ 2. Change Never Comes at a Safe, Slow Speed
New experiences hit fast—sometimes before we’re ready.
Maybe that’s why God doesn’t just open a door—He sometimes throws us onto the back of a speeding motorcycle and says, “Hold on.”
🚀 Transformation isn’t always comfortable, but it’s necessary.
🌍 3. Exposure Changes Everything
The gang member didn’t know what he didn’t know—until he saw something different.
This reminds me of Isaiah 43:19:
📖 “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
Sometimes, all we need is a glimpse of something bigger to realize we’ve been settling.
🌹 4. Kindness Plants Seeds
The gang member sending me flowers wasn’t random—it was a response to kindness.
Even in the hardest of places, kindness has the power to shift people’s hearts.
Just as Proverbs 16:24 says:
📖 “Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”
A single act of kindness can open doors and change lives—even in unexpected places.
🔄 5. Some People Want to Change, But Don’t Know How
Not everyone in tough situations wants to stay there—but they don’t always see a way out.
🚪 What if someone is waiting for you to show them what’s beyond their warehouse?
Maybe the role you play in someone’s life isn’t to fix them, but to show them another way.
💡 Final Thoughts: Where Is Your Warehouse?
As I reflected on this dream, I realized something:
🚪 We all have a warehouse.
🏍️ We all have a motorcycle moment.
🌍 We all have a West Side waiting to be discovered.
The question is:
• Are you stuck in a limited perspective without realizing it?
• Have you been afraid to take a ride into something new—because it feels too fast, too unknown?
• Or maybe…someone in your life needs you to be the one who shows them there’s more.
Maybe you’ve been waiting for a sign to step out of your comfort zone, to embrace the adventure, to explore what’s beyond.
Well, this is it.
🚀 Go. Take the ride. See what’s beyond the warehouse.
Because who knows? Flowers might just be waiting on the other side. 🌹
