Notes: My blog posts on Sundays will have a slightly different focus. I’ll be sharing some Sunday lessons drawn from my personal studies and insights shared by a friend. She often sends me her personal Bible studies and the lessons she’s learned from Scripture. With her permission, I’ve polished these lessons and will be posting them to share with you all.
Throughout the Psalms, there are golden nuggets of wisdom and truth to treasure in our hearts. “As for God, His way is perfect” (Psalm 18:30). Righteousness, justice, love, and faithfulness are the foundations of God’s throne and the central characteristics of how He rules (Psalms 9:7-9, 33:5, 85:10, 89:14, 96:13). Today’s scripture encourages us to proclaim and eagerly anticipate God’s Perfect Timing of Favor!
Psalm 102:12-13 (NIV): “But you, LORD, sit enthroned forever; your renown endures through all generations. You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come.”
In the first eleven verses of Psalm 102, the psalmist details his troubles and misery. Just when it seems he is ready to give up, he pens today’s scripture. In the midst of his lament, he recognizes that God is still on the throne and that there is a set time for favor in his future. God is saying to His people, “Don’t worry, things are about to change. You have come into your set time of favor. I will arise and have compassion.”
In His perfect timing, God will step in against your enemies and scatter them. When He arises, sickness will be defeated, addictions will be broken, and lack, poverty, and struggle will come to an end. He is going before you, clearing the path where you couldn’t go before, pushing back the forces of darkness. The enemies you have seen in the past you will see no more. It’s your set time for freedom and wholeness.

Prayer
Father, You are enthroned forever, and You have set this time of favor for me. Thank You that You are giving me the power to do what I couldn’t do. I believe You are fighting my battles and preparing the way for me to step up to the next level. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
