Today, I had a profound realization about the nature of God’s love and how it touches our lives in the most unexpected ways. Reflecting on my journey and the teachings I’ve encountered, I’ve come to appreciate the depth and power of His love.

God’s Love is All-Consuming

God’s love is like an all-encompassing fire that surrounds and fills everything it touches. However, it’s humbling to realize that if we try to approach Him in our sinful state, we can’t withstand His holy presence. It’s not because He doesn’t want us near, but because His holiness is beyond our sinful nature.

To have a relationship with God, the cost is death. As sinful beings, we can’t draw near to God in His purity. Yet, in an unimaginable act of love, He came down to earth to live among us and took on our sin. In His absolute purity, He bore the weight of our sins and paid the ultimate price of death. Why? Simply because He wanted a relationship with us. Imagine that: the Creator of the universe, longing for a connection with us, who are but dust. This act showcases the immeasurable greatness, width, height, and depth of God’s love.

The Symbolism of Incense

I also learned about the powerful symbolism of incense. In many traditions, incense represents the prayers offered to God, rising up like a fragrant offering. This beautiful image reminds me of the importance of living a life devoted to others, just as God has shown His selfless love to us. It’s a call to lift up our own prayers and lives as offerings, seeking to live in a way that pleases Him and serves others.

Unbreakable Love

One verse that really struck me today is Romans 8:35 (NIV): “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?”

This verse reassures me that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. No matter what we face—troubles, hardships, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, or sword—His love remains steadfast and unbroken. This promise gives me hope and strength, knowing that we are eternally secure in His love.

As I reflect on these lessons, I’m reminded of how transformative God’s love can be. It’s a love that calls us to draw closer, live selflessly, and hold on to the unbreakable promise of His presence. What an incredible journey it is to walk in this love, day by day, learning and growing in the knowledge of His boundless grace.
