What’s your definition of romantic?

I will describe a romantic scene instead, and perhaps this will give you an idea of what I consider romantic.

Picture a tall man and a petite woman walking hand-in-hand on a pristine white sand beach. The gentle sea waves lap at their bare feet as they stroll along the water’s edge. He’s dressed in beige dockers and a pale blue polo shirt, exuding a preppy look, while she’s wearing a floral-printed dress that dances in the breeze. Coconut trees sway gently overhead, while seagulls glide above the sparkling water. The sun hovers on the horizon, painting the sky in breathtaking red and orange hues. A soft Hawaiian wedding song drifts through the air, adding to the serene atmosphere.

As they walk, he slowly leans down, tipping her chin up gently, and their eyes meet. With a tender smile, he kisses her, a kiss so sweet and passionate that it feels like she’s been sent to the moon.

To me, romance goes beyond just moments like these. Being romantic means putting in the effort to love someone through both words and actions. It’s the little things, like leaving a note of encouragement on a tough day, planning a surprise date, or simply listening with genuine interest and empathy. Romance is love in action, shown through thoughtful gestures, heartfelt words, and a deep, enduring commitment. It’s about making your partner feel cherished and valued, knowing their likes and dislikes, and consistently showing up for them in ways that matter.

Based on this definition of being romantic, the man in the scene clearly demonstrates his love by carefully planning a date for his lady friend. Nature, in its timeless beauty, provides the perfect romantic backdrop for their special moment.

Ultimately, romance is about creating a deep connection that transcends the everyday. It’s about finding joy in each other’s presence, sharing dreams and fears, and building a life together filled with love and understanding. It’s not just the grand gestures or perfect moments, but the continuous, loving efforts that keep the spark alive. This, to me, is the true essence of being romantic.
